Davidoff

In the early 1900s, young Zino Davidoff was born in Ukraine. Little did his parents know that one day, he would be given another name:

The “King of Cigars.”

While there’s ample room to dispute that title nowadays, in his time, Zino was a pioneer in many ways. He developed a fascination with cigars in his father’s cigar shop in Switzerland and then took himself to Cuba to delve deeper into the industry. He opened his own store there and built his business over the years, creating a reputation for high-quality products.

Then came Castro’s revolution.

But unlike every other cigar company owner, Zino Davidoff didn’t take his business elsewhere. He didn’t flee the country and set up shop in Miami or Esteli, Nicaragua. Instead, he schmoozed his way into staying, ultimately becoming the only foreigner who could maintain a cigar business in Cuba.

The decades continued to roll by, and Davidoff reached the top of the cigar world with boxes of premium smokes that would sell for thousands at auctions. Eventually, disputes about quality ended his partnership with Cuba’s state-owned tobacco business, and he relocated the business to the Dominican Republic. Before he did that, however, he publicly burned a hundred thousand cigars he deemed to be low quality and unfit for consumption.

Clearly, these are luxury smokes. Anything less is unacceptable.

Davidoff cigars are handcrafted under the guidance of master blender Hendrik “Henke” Kelner. Some of the brand’s most popular sticks include the Grand Cru, Millennium, Anniversario, and Signature lines. These are often called Davidoff’s “White Label” Cigars.

It’s a classic cigar brand that never lets production quality dip in the slightest regard.
